Week 6: Fantasy Recap

October 21, 2009

WEEK 6 BULLS AND BEARS

Week 6 was a wild one in the NFL.  Filled with blowouts, bad weather, disappointing performances and hot seats getting hotter (especially at FedEx Field), Week 6 did not disappoint.

The weather in the northeast was horrible and had significant impact on several games, and some players fantasy value.  The Titans decided not to show up against the Patriots, making the Pats look like their 2007 version, as they pitched 59 points in a shutout.  Mark Sanchez showed that he performs much better in perfect conditions, throwing 5 INTs during the Bills overtime upset of the Jets.

All three active teams in the NFC East lost on Sunday, going a combined 0-3.  In Washington, the Redskins proved that they are one of the worst offensive teams in the league.  The Giants were absolutely dominated in what was suppossed to be the game of the week.  And the Eagles were embarrassed by the Oakland Raiders. …read more

Week 6 Fantasy Injuries

October 17, 2009

Jerricho CotcheryNeed to know if your starting running back is going to play this weekend? Injuries are a huge part of fantasy football. If your receiver is a number two, but the number one guy isn’t playing, that could mean you’re in for some solid points. Be sure to check PSL’s fantasy injuries each week so you can get ready to set your lineup for Sunday (and Monday – and sometimes Thursday). …read more

October 16, 2009

Bona fide superstars are key to a successful season, but its the role players that will be the glue that holds your team together over the long haul. As experienced fantasy fiends know, value is the key to drafting a championship contending group. Minding My Manners – Your Week 6 Fantasy Scoutlook

October 16, 2009

Adam ProScoutlookThe champ is here! After a one-week hiatus, I’m back to give my picks and answer your questions as the 6th week of this 2009 NFL season quickly approaches. A-lo filled in well for me last week, making some spot-on picks, and his help will be much needed again. We’ve got a battle of the unbeatens in New Orleans this weekend, a great matchup in Minnesota, and a few scrub matches.

Week 6, for many fantasy leagues, is a do-or-die week. It could take just one more loss this week before you find yourself essentially on the outside looking in on the playoffs. Take this advice or direct your specific questions our way, as Alex and I call the shots. …read more

Back from the Dead

October 15, 2009

nfl_u_jennings_576During the fantasy draft, the first three picks are probably the most important. Those players are your breadwinners. They get you points every week. Well, at least they’re supposed to.

Sometimes injuries can mess up a player’s production. Other times, they simply don’t get there.

For some teams, week one looked great. Their stars put up good points and everything was fine. Then all of a sudden, nothing. A couple straight weeks of three-point games from a player can really bug a fantasy owner. Well now there’s hope.

This week, some players that you may have written off for dead, are in line to have a solid week 6. Read more…

PSL’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 6

October 14, 2009

Ahmad BradshawA team that’s been climbing the rankings each week has finally broken into the top 5.

The Broncos have been attempting to prove to everyone that they’re legit, and now they’ve done it. With Kyle Orton playing as well as any quarterback, throwing 7 TDs and just 1 interception, Denver begins the season 5-0.

The Broncos aren’t the only surprise of the year. The Bengals have climbed the ladder to number seven with a comeback win over Baltimore this week.

Right now, five undefeated teams remain. That will all change next week, as the Giants travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints. The Colts are guaranteed to remain unbeaten as they head into their bye week. The Vikings and Broncos both have tough match-ups. Minnesota will battle it out with Baltimore, as the Ravens look for redemption, and Denver travels to San Diego to clash with the Chargers on Monday night.

Check ProScoutlook.com every Tuesday to see where your team ranks in the National Football League. Week 6 Power Rankings Here

Week 5: Fantasy Recap

October 13, 2009

WEEK 5 BULLS AND BEARS

WEEK 5 BULLS AND BEARSThe early portion of the NFL season is always very interesting.  Teams and players begin to reveal their real identity as story lines begin to emerge.  No one would have predicted that Cedric Benson would be the NFL’s leading rusher in Week 5 or that the McDaniels-led Broncos would defeat the Patriots to move to 5-0 on the season.  The non-fantasy season has been thrilling up to this point.

This fantasy season has been no different.  By Week 5 in Fantasy, the preseason hype starts to wear off some players, and players true colors begin to shine through (how’s Buffalo treating you, T.O.?).  Some owners may start to panic about their players’ lack of production, and may be willing to trade that player for cents on the dollar.  Be sure to look for these undervalued gems, and try to uncover a diamond in the rough. Mix-Match Mix ‘Em Up

October 12, 2009

88972003JJ004_NEW_ENGLAND_PWhat is this?! Why would they show the Bills vs. Browns on TV? I waited all week and this one of the games they show? What garbage! Wait a second, why is Bill Belichick coaching the Bills? Those aren’t the Bills at all, those are the Patriots! And its not the Browns either its the…Broncos? While I’m sure not everyone experienced quite the same reaction to the horrendous throw-back jerseys sported in Sunday’s 4 o’clock football game, I’ll bet that at least a couple of you were confused when the two teams took the field.  Rather than mark a special occasion once a season, throw-back uniforms have almost become a weekly norm in the NFL.  While it might be interesting to see how the teams of old once dressed themselves every now and then, this practice has gotten way out of hand. …read more

He’s Back…

October 10, 2009

After attending Friday’s preseason NBA game of the Wizards vs. Mavericks, I can confidently say now (with a sigh of relief) Gilbert is back! After almost a 2 year hiatus of various injuries, Gilbert Arenas is back and ready to play harder than ever.
