The champ is here! After a one-week hiatus, I’m back to give my picks and answer your questions as the 6th week of this 2009 NFL season quickly approaches. A-lo filled in well for me last week, making some spot-on picks, and his help will be much needed again. We’ve got a battle of the unbeatens in New Orleans this weekend, a great matchup in Minnesota, and a few scrub matches.

Week 6, for many fantasy leagues, is a do-or-die week. It could take just one more loss this week before you find yourself essentially on the outside looking in on the playoffs. Take this advice or direct your specific questions our way, as Alex and I call the shots.

Yes, Please. I’d Love Some…

by Adam Hutcheson

Matt Hasselbeck – QB Seattle Seahawks

Give me the league’s worst pass defense and I’ll start the QB throwing against them just about every time. With a healthy Matt Hasselbeck, it seems like a no-brainer. Nate Burleson has really come into his own this year after a 2008 campaign that left him sidelined nearly the entire year with a knee injury. The deep-ball threat of Burleson and the over-the-middle play of Houshmandzadeh give Hasselbeck the versatility he needs to pick apart the Cardinals secondary. Week 6 Scoutlook: 312 yds passing, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 1 rush for 4 yds.

Kevin Smith – RB Detroit Lions

The Lions are marching into Green Bay this week, most likely with Daunte Culpepper behind the wheel of the offense. With Calvin Johnson (knee) looking less likely as he continues to miss practices, the Lions will be banking on the run game of Kevin Smith, their only RB (Reliable Back). He’s proven he can be 2-dimensional with his receiving skills improving each week. The Green Bay defense has given up 3.5 yards per carry and 112 yards per game to opposing rushers. Trust Smith to be the workhorse of this Lions offense on Sunday. Week 6 Scoutlook: 22 carries for 95 yds, 1 TD, 4 receptions for 31 yds.

Chad Ochocinco – WR Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have congealed in a big way in 2009, with their well-balanced offense and rejuvenated defense. Despite Ochocinco’s Lambeau Leap, he’s been relatively tame, thus far. This week, the Bengals will host the Houston Texans in what should be a offensive slugfest. Look for Palmer to seek out his most dynamic offensive threat frequently, countering with a consistent run game from Cedric Benson. Ochocinco better have an end zone dance prepared for the weekend. Week 6 Scoutlook: 7 receptions for 105 yds, 1 TD.

Antonio Gates – TE San Diego Chargers

Always a must start, the knock on Gates in the past few years has been his durability. He’s moving around on the field like we haven’t seen since his 75 reception season of 2007. The key to snapping Denver’s winning streak will be the Rivers to Gates connection. Vincent Jackson will be manhandled by Champ Bailey, leaving Rivers looking to the middle of the field for Gates. Should there be a game that Rivers relies on Gates, this is the one, and it comes in primetime on Monday night. Week 6 Scoutlook: 8 receptions for 89 yds, 2 TDs.

Washington Redskins – DEF

Since coming over from New England, Matt Cassel has looked discombobulated in what’s been a mess of a season offensively for the Chiefs. Those Chiefs will be traveling to DC for a game in which Jim Zorn’s career is on the line. He’ll rally the troops the best he and his passive personality can. The addition of Albert Haynesworth has clogged the rushing lanes for opposing offenses. Considering the motor of Larry Johnson is long overdue for an oil change, expect a disastrous showing from Kansas City’s running backs, forcing the ball to the air. Enter Matt Cassel. Week 6 Scoutlook: 13 pts allowed, 2 INT, 3 sacks.

No, Thanks. I’ll Pass…

by Alex Lopez

Ok, so last week was kind of hit and miss. But come on, it was my first shot. And who would have thought Kyle Orton was the real deal? Actually at the beginning of the year I did, but don’t ask me to prove it. Even with that oversight, I fared a little better on the duds than the studs so let’s just focus on that this time around.

Brett Favre – QB Minnesota Vikings

After reminding us all of the Favre of old two weeks ago against his former team, Favre fell back down to earth against the Rams next week, fantasy wise at least. He has only thrown two picks this year and is more efficient than ever. The arm strength is still there and he’s as clutch as ever. The problem is the Vikings rarely need him to step up. Not needing a hall of fame quarterback to shoulder the load is great for a real team, but no so much for a fantasy one. He may be called upon a little more this week if AP struggles against the Ravens brutal run defense, but their pass defense isn’t any less scary. Week 6 Scoutlook: 175 yds passing, 1 TD, 1 INT.

Ray Rice/Willis McGahee – RB Baltimore Ravens

With Rice getting all his work between the 20’s and McGahee getting mostly goal-line looks it’s hard to figure out who the best Ravens fantasy option is week-to-week. The fact that they’re facing the Vikings D this week makes it a lot easier, sit them both. It was already a crapshoot with these two, but now the dice are loaded against you. The only way I would consider starting either of these two is if you are desperate for help in a TD only league. McGahee may get lucky and be able to punch one in but he won’t rack up a lot of yards. Week 6 Scoutlook: Rice-14 rushes for 60 yds, 0 TDs. McGahee-6 rushes for 12 yds, 1 TD.

Mario Manningham – WR New York Giants

Manningham’s targets are decreasing while Hakeem Nicks’s are rising. I’m not confident in either receiver until the competition for Eli’s attention plays itself out. But if I had to pick one or the other to perform this week and in the long term, I would go with Nicks. Nicks is physically superior to Manningham and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of his game catches up. Week 6 Scoutlook: 2 receptions for 45 yds, 0 TDs.

Jeremy Shockey – TE New Orleans Saints

There’s a lot of speculation this week on how badly Shockey wants to burn his former team but it’s not like he’s Brett Favre. Favre was in control of his own destiny against the Packers. Shockey has to rely on Drew Brees to give him a chance to do some damage. But Brees has too many other weapons to guarantee Shockey a big day. Week 6 Scoutlook: 4 receptions for 40 yds, 0 TDs

Washington Redskins – DEF

No folks, it’s not a typo. Believe it or not, sometimes sportswriters disagree with one another. Adam’s right, on paper it looks like the Redskins should have no problem shutting down the Chiefs’ pathetic offense. But on paper they should be 4-1. Talent-wise the Skins are leaps and bounds ahead of the Lions and Panthers, especially on D. Yet they found ways to lose. The offense is incapable of staying on the field long enough to give the defense adequate rest and as the season goes on they wear down more and more. Couple that with the fact that Matt Cassel is healthy, improving, and finally developing chemistry with Dwayne Bowe and this game spells disaster for the Skins and potentially the end of the Jim Zorn era. Week 6 Scoutlook: 28 pts allowed, 2 sacks, 0 INT

Football is a game of inches, but fantasy football is a game of 10-yard increments and scores. An inch in fantasy football doesn’t mean squat, unless we’re talking those 3,600 inches that break the 100-yard milestone. So, week to week, the points don’t have to be pretty. They don’t have to help your player’s team win. They just have to help you get to 2-2, rather than walking out of Week 4 with a losing record.

This week’s edition of Minding My Manners may be the most important thus far. Philadelphia, Carolina, Arizona and Atlanta are the first four teams to get the chance to vacation in Cancun for a week, also known as the bye week. For your fantasy team, that means replacements may be in need. But can you trust those players?

Yes, Please. I’d Love Some…

Carson Palmer – QB Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are looking a lot better than they did in their preseason HBO documentary, Hard Knocks, when the injury bug hit, the O-line needed a facelift and the defense was suspect. Here they are, going into Week 4, with a 2-1 record and coming off a huge win at the expense of the Steelers. Carson Palmer has come back from injury in a big way, the same way as Tom Brady, as a matter of fact. The two have put up nearly identical fantasy points through three weeks. This week, the Bengals face Eric Mangini’s Cleveland Browns (I’ll refrain from going on and on about how he’s arguably the worst hire in history). Palmer will have plenty of opportunities to throw the ball downfield to Ochocinco and company. Week 4 Scoutlook: 286 yds passing, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 2 rushes for 14 yds.

Steve Slaton – RB Houston Texans

Sophomore slump? He’s about to graduate from the miserable level he’s performed at heading into Week 4. Houston will be welcoming the 28th ranked rush defense of the Oakland Raiders, a stat they’ll have to feed off of should they wish to have any success. Slaton put on some weight in the offseason, an added component to his game many experts thought would make him more powerful between the hash-marks. He’s proven to be a bit slower and less elusive, but expect the sleeping monster to wake up on the right side of the bed on Sunday. Week 4 Scoutlook: 23 rushes for 128 yds, 2 TDs, 5 receptions for 32 yds.

Earl Bennett – WR Chicago Bears

There’s been a lot of hype in Chicago since Jay Cutler came to town. The biggest storyline may have been his reunion with Vanderbilt Commodore teammate Earl Bennett. Through three weeks, both Bennett and Devin Hester have been Cutler’s favorite targets, with 13 receptions each. Enter the Detroit Lions. Maybe they aren’t the worst team in football anymore, but they still put a wimpy defense on the field. Jim Zorn’s confused offense was able to throw for over 300 yards in the Redskins’ loss to the Lions last week. Look for Bennett to be the main focus of Cutler as the connection continues to rekindle. Week 4 Scoutlook: 7 receptions for 93 yds, 1 TD.

Vernon Davis - TE San Francisco 49ers

He’s always been a talent, maybe the most hyped tight end since Kellen Winslow Jr. He’s just never been able to do much in the NFL. Mike Singletary had to bench the underachiever to make an example of him after committing a crucial penalty last year. His time to emerge may be now, as the 49ers have played like playoff contenders early in the season and could use a standout receiving threat. His two TDs last week could be foreshadowing what’s to come in 2009. If he could put up those touchdown totals against a stingy Minnesota defense, then just imagine the show he and Shaun Hill can put on Sunday afternoon. Week 4 Scoutlook: 5 receptions for 68 yds, 1 TD.

Tennessee Titans – DEF

Jeff Fisher’s team has been in reverse since last year’s top-seeded playoff berth. After going 13-3 last year, the Titans have already matched last year’s loss total, but don’t expect them to stay this dismal all season. The loss of DE Albert Haynesworth seemed to be the most devastating loss, but it’s not the rush defense that’s missed a step in 2009, it’s the pass defense, which is ranked 29th in the NFL. This week, the Titans face David Garrard and the Jaguars, a team based mainly on their run game. Look for the Titans to rediscover the magic that made them the favorites in the AFC South entering the 2009 season. Week 4 Scoutlook: 13 pts allowed, 2 sacks, 2 INT.

No, Thanks. I’ll Pass…

Matt Schaub – QB Houston Texans

After two straight weeks of dazzling fans with an electric pass game, combining for 657 passing yards and 7 TDs, his act will come to an end Week 4. The Texans face-off with Oakland and their shutdown cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who is dying for his first interception of the year. In two career games against the Raiders, Schaub has 0 TD and a QB rating of 62.3. Schaub’s stock has been rising, but look for a sharp drop-off this weekend. Week 4 Scoutlook: 221 yds passing, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 rush for 6 yds.

Willis McGahee – RB Baltimore Ravens

McGahee has been fantasy gold through three weeks, but he’s not racking up much yardage. No coach relishes a big win more than Bill Belichick, so don’t expect his defense to take any goal line stands lightly. That’s where McGahee and his 6 TDs have shined in 2009. It will be Ray Rice’s day in New England for the Ravens, who could easily break off a long TD run. It’s the red zone falters of Patriot’s opponents that should worry any McGahee owner this week. The Patriots have given up just one rushing TD in the red zone this season. Week 4 Scoutlook: 12 rushes for 42 yds, 0 TD.

Percy Harvin – WR Minnesota Vikings

Harvin has burst onto the scene as the Vikings most exciting passing threat and return man, but he’s never faced the bright lights of an NFL national broadcast. On Monday Night Football, he’ll be in the spotlight as Brett Favre faces the Packers for the first time since leaving. The Packers 3-4 defense, developed by Dom Capers, will put pressure on Favre while maintaining a tight grip on receivers downfield. Look for Harvin, who has put up good numbers thus far, to be limited in the biggest game of his NFL career. Week 4 Scoutlook: 4 receptions for 51 yds, 0 TD.

Kellen Winslow – TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The move to Tampa looked like a perfect fit for Winslow until the Giants came to town. The inability to move the chains may prove to be too much for the potential fantasy stud to overcome. He’ll be catching passes from first-time starter Josh Johnson, who replaces the struggling veteran Byron Leftwich. The defense of the Redskins has been the only thing keeping them from being 0-3, so expect them to limit the Buccaneers similarly to the way the Giants did last week. No one down in Tampa Bay can be trusted at this point. Their offense is absolutely anemic, even Winslow. Week 4 Scoutlook: 3 receptions, 28 yds, 0 TD.

Pittsburgh Steelers – DEF

The defending Super Bowl champs are in a tough spot entering Week 4, with the Chargers poised to walk all over the Steelers. Philip Rivers has developed into one of the league’s best passers and should LT and Sproles share carries, the balance between pass and run should keep receivers and running lanes open. Until Troy Polomalu returns to the Steelers’ lineup, their defense will fail to compete at the level they did last year. Week 4 Scoutlook: 29 pts allowed, 1 sack, 1 INT, 0 TD.

There are no mulligans in this game, but every now and then I’d like a Minding My Manners mulligan. Last week, was one instance where that was the case. Sure, Tony Romo had a bad game, just as I predicted, but we won’t even talk about some of the other picks. This week the NFL schedule doesn’t provide too many good watches for fans, but there should be some fantasy standouts by the time the weekend winds down.

I’m back to resuscitate my reputation as I pick the Week 3 must starts and must sits for your fantasy football team. And if these picks don’t pan out this week, just stop the CPR, turn the ambulance around and pull the plug. Or just call me bad names like “loser” or “chump” or “Brad Evans”…

Yes, Please. I’d Love Some…

Eli Manning – QB New York Giants

Through two weeks, Eli has done his best to show why he deserved the NFL’s richest contract for a quarterback. He’s dug deep to make something out of nothing with no star wide receivers on the Giant’s roster. Losing Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer has had little to no effect on Manning, who’s found gold in Mario Manningham and Steve Smith. Should Dominik Hixon and Hakeem Nicks come backin good health within the next few weeks, Little Manning could have the weapons he needs to get back to the Pro Bowl. This week the Giants take on Tampa Bay’s inexperienced defense that gave up career high yardage to Tony Romo through the air. Look for Eli to get plenty of good looks downfield, especially if Brandon Jacobs can’t make much happen on the ground. Week 3 Scoutlook: 315 yds passing, 2 TDs, 3 rushes for 15 yds.

Fred Jackson – RB Buffalo Bills

This is Jackson’s last week to prove he’s worthy of starting over Marshawn Lynch, who will be coming off his 3-week suspsension. Ready Freddie will take advantage of a mediocre Saints defense, while the Bills try to play catch-up against Drew Brees. Whether the Bills are run-heavy or throwing the ball, Jackson is sure to be involved, being one of the game’s best backfield receiver. Week 3 Scoutlook: 21 rushes for 96 yds, 6 receptions for 68 yds, 1 TD.

Jerricho Cotchery – WR New York Jets

Mark Sanchez has found a comfort zone with Cotchery, who’s recorded over 85 receiving yards in each of the Jets first two games. This week, the Jets will face a Tennessee defense that gave Houston QB Matt Schaub a career day last week, and 100+ yard games for both Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes in Week 1. Expect Mark Sanchez to get a lot of pressure in the pocket from the Titans’, using Cotchery as a checkdown option. When the Jets get to the red zone, he’ll be looking for Cotchery and Dustin Keller, should the run game fail. Week 3 Scoutlook: 7 receptions for 105 yds, 1 TD.

Greg Olsen – TE Chicago Bears

For those of you who have given up on Olsen, this is not the week to bench, trade or drop him. Jay Cutler had a rough season opener, but played well at home last week. The Bears head to Seattle this week, a team that hasn’t faced a top 25 fantasy QB thus far. Greg Olsen will get plenty of open looks in Week 3, and could very easily lead the Bears in receiving yards. The chemistry will emerge and finally pay dividends for Olsen owners. Week 3 Scoutlook: 6 receptions for 78 yds, 1 TD.

San Francisco 49ers – DEF

I’ve heard this defense described as “a bunch of animals on the field.” That’s the power of Mike Singletary’s presence at head coach. After six consecutive losses going into Week 11 of last year, the team has gone 7-2, a pretty impressive turn around. Patrick Willis will do his best to keep Adrian Peterson from breaking into the secondary. Pass rush will limit the looks downfield, forcing unsuccessful screens and plenty of third and longs. Week 3 Scoutlook: 17 pts allowed, 3 INTs, 2 sacks, 1 TD.

No, Thanks. I’ll Pass…

Brett Favre – QB Minnesota Vikings

As mentioned above, the Vikings will have a tough matchup when facing Singletary’s cannibalizing defense. Brett Favre will be the first to make a mistake, as he has many times in his career when receivers can’t get open. The patented Favre heaves downfield will put the 49ers defensive backs into receiver mode. Though the game will be a close battle, the success of Minnesota will bank on Peterson pounding the middle with 25+ touches. There’s still no connection between Favre and Bernard Berrian, leaving rookie Percy Harvin to pick up the pieces. Week 3 Scoutlook: 160 yds passing, 0 TD, 3 INT, 2 rushes for 8 yds.

Kevin Smith – RB Detroit Lions

For Detroit, the hopes of ending their19 game losing streak will need to fall on the shoulders of rookie QB Matthew Stafford, rather than RB Kevin Smith. He’ll struggle to run the ball against Albert Haynesworth and the Skins defensive line. There’s been talk that this is the week the Lions win, with the putrid Redskins coming to town, but I’m not buying it. The Washington defense is too good to allow that to happen, even on the road. Smith will have to run to the outside to have any success, and that’s really not his running style. Combine that with his current 2.6 yards per carry in 2009, and he’s, well, screwed. Week 3 Scoutlook: 19 rushes for 48 yds, 0 TD.

Eddie Royal – WR Denver Broncos

Let’s face it, the Broncos are lucky to be at 2-0 early on in the 2009 season, but it’s been no thanks to Royal. He’s been pretty quiet thus far while adjusting to life without Jay Cutler. He’s got just 38 receiving yards through two weeks and the Oakland’s cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha won’t give Eddie Royal any room to make a play. Kyle Orton will have better luck looking for Brandon Stokely. Brandon Marshall is still not familiar with Josh McDaniel’s playbook and will continue to be unreliable for the Broncos in key passing situations. Denver’s passing game is certainly not the reason they are undefeated at this point in the season. Week 3 Scoutlook: 3 receptions for 32 yds, 0 TDs.

John Carlson – TE Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks leading receiver will need QB Matt Hasselbeck behind center to have any success in Week 3, but his health is in question at this point with a cracked rib. Carlson and the Seahawks will welcome Chicago to Seattle, and will face a very tough defense. Should Seneca Wallace start the game, the run game may put up some decent numbers, but the passing game will be nearly nonexistent. T.J. Houshmandzadeh will provide a big target for Wallace, but Carlson is less likely to see many looks. Week 3 Scoutlook: 4 receptions for 44 yds, 0 TDs.

Dallas Cowboys – DEF

Always a popular pick for defense, but they rarely prove fantasy-efficient. The hopes of Cowboy fans is that Demarcus Ware and Terrance Newman will carry the defense is delusional. Under the spotlight of Monday Night Football, the Cowboys will welcome the Panthers to their new, state-of-the-art stadium. Jake Delhomme has been media gold with his sloppy Week 1, but he improved Week 2 in their loss to the Falcons. The 0-2 Panthers are desperate for a win, and Julius Peppers and the defensive squad will provide their only hope at stopping Tony Romo’s Cowboys. But throw in a Marion Barber injury, and the Panthers look to be in decent shape to get their first 2009 victory. Week 3 Scoutlook: 27 pts allowed, 1 INT, 2 sack, 0 TD.

The face of a franchise can emerge at any point in the season, but the future of a franchise can disappear just as quickly. In a development coming out of the Dominican Republic, it appears San Francisco Giants prized prospect Angel Villalona has turned himself in for a crime that will put him in jail for up to 20 years. He is the suspected killer of 25 year old Mario Felix de Jesus Velete, who was shot and killed Saturday night at a Dominican bar.

Villalona, 19, had received a $2.1 million signing bonus as a teenager in 2006, the most by any Giant prospect at that point in time. His 2009 campaign fell a bit short of expectations this year (.267 avg, 9 HR), though his statistics seem merely an afterthought with this developing story.

Despite having turned himself in, Villalona has pleaded innocent in court on Monday. The Giants organization will have to wait a minimum two months while Villalona serves a court-ordered jail sentence during the police investigation.

Scouting Notes

With the team’s suspension of Milton Bradley for the remainder of the season, the Chicago Cubs have opened the door to outfield prospect Tyler Colvin. On Monday, Colvin debuted at centerfield as the Cubs hosted Milwaukee. In his major league debut, Colvin went 1-for-3 with a walk and a sacrifice fly.

On Saturday, baseball’s top catching prospect Buster Posey of the Giants got his first major league hit, a single off Dodgers pitcher Jeff Weaver. In 35 AAA games, Posey hit .321 with 5 HR, and the expiring contract of Bengie Molina could lead to a full time role with the big league club.

Atlanta Braves have a pair of young sluggers in Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman, but it was Heyward who really came into his own this year between high Class-A Myrtle Beach and AA-Mississippi, to go along with a 3-game stint with AAA Gwinnett. In his 2009 season, he batted .314 with 17 HR en route to the 2009 Minor League Player award. Donning the Braves uniform will bring spitting-image comparisons to the great Fred McGriff. As for Freeman, the 20 year old took a step back upon his promotion to AA-Mississippi where he only hit .248 in 41 games. Though Freeman’s development may not be on pace with that of Heyward, these two will be nestled in the heart of the Braves order come 2012.

This past week, the Nationals’ $15.1 million draftee Stephen Strasburg reported to Viera, FL to prepare for the Florida Instructional League. Based on his performance here and also in the Arizona Fall League, Washington could see instant returns on their investment if they choose to bypass the minors and propel Strasburg straight to the majors in April.

Cleveland Indians’ minor league catcher Carlos Santana has a bat that’s ready to emerge at the major league level. He spent the entire year at AA-Akron batting. 290 with 22 HR and 97 RBI, where he won the Eastern League’s MVP award. The only flaw in the Indians’ future backstop is his game-calling skills, a problem stemming from a language barrier.

Here we go again. Last week turned into a huge success for the picks you saw here at Minding My Manners, as many of the players outperformed their predictions (results will be revealed at the end of this article). This week we’ll try to play the matchups yet again to find the must-starts and sure-thing flops of Week 2 in the NFL.

Fantasy football can be a hair-pulling game from week to week as players are dropped and lineups are locked. Take ProScoutlook’s advice en route to your 2009 league title.

Yes, Please. I’d Love Some…

Trent Edwards – QB Buffalo Bills

Prior to the Bills typical MNF meltdown, Trent Edwards was outplaying the opposing quarterback, a man named Brady. Not Quinn, but Tom. He got unexpected support from his offensive line, compiled of all new pieces at each position. As the chemistry continues to develop with Owens, the T.O./Evans duo will become one of the best in the league. This week the Bills face off at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team that gave up career high yardage to Tony Romo last week. Look for Edwards to have his way with their young defense getting both Terrell Owens and Lee Evans heavily involved. Week 2 Scoutlook: 296 yds passing, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 2 rushes for 18 yds.

Ryan Grant – RB Green Bay Packers

The Packers offense is explosive, and when the Bengals come to town, we’ll see them on their most destructive behavior. Grant rushed for 61 yards and a TD last week against the Bears, a much tougher defense. He’ll do very little as a receiver out of the backfield, but he’s the one-dimensional type you should like: a grinder. This week, he’ll get yardage where most backs can’t find a foot, already boasting a 6.0 yard per carry average. It’s safe to assume the Packers will be leading early, leaving the run game of Ryan Grant to knock ticks off the clock. Week 2 Scoutlook: 22 rushes for 92 yds, 1 TD, 2 rec for 12 yds.

Braylon Edwards – WR Cleveland Browns

Last week we saw Brady Quinn begin his tenure as the Brown’s starting quarterback. Give him those few extra practices, add in a spotty defense and he’s bound to find a connection. That connection will be frequented through WR Braylon Edwards. The Broncos put up a fight against the Bengals and walked away with a victory, but that was the work of Carson Palmer’s failures to find his receivers. When many people are bailing on Edwards and the Cleveland offense, now may be a time to swoop in for a steal. Week 2 Scoutlook: 7 receptions for 85 yds, 1 TD.

Chris Cooley – TE Washington Redskins

He’s been guaranteed 6 TDs this year by head coach Jim Zorn, and through one week, has already matched his season total from 2008. If Zorn and QB Jason Campbell have any intentions of keep their jobs this season, they’ll find a way to get the ball in Cooley’s hands. He’s good for about 50 yards per game, but his value comes in the red zone. Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El are not goal line receivers, leaving Cooley as the top option when the run game fails. When facing the measly Rams, expect more red zone opportunities than usual. Week 2 Scoutlook: 6 receptions for 65 yds, 1 TD.

Indianapolis Colts – Defense

Don’t count out the Colts in the AFC South just yet, so long as their defense played the way they did Week 1. They were able to limit the Jaguars to just 12 points. With the loss of WR Anthony Gonzalez, this strength on the defensive end will be key to victory in these upcoming weeks. In Week 2, they’ll matchup with the Miami Dolphins and their original Wildcat offense. The immobile Chad Pennington will be wearing a bull’s eye all night in the eyes of DE Dwight Freeney. Week 2 Scoutlook: 17 pts allowed, 3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 TD.

No, Thanks. I’ll Pass…

Tony Romo – QB Dallas Cowboys

His season started well on the road in Tampa with a career-high 353 passing yards. That was last week, and this week the Giants pose a much bigger defensive challenge. With a lingering sprained ankle, Romo says he’ll be 100% come gametime Sunday night, but we still expect his mobility to be limited. The Giants will pressure Romo, forcing him to uncomfortably scramble and, in turn, falter in his Cowboys Stadium debut. Week 2 Scoutlook: 209 yards passing, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 2 rushes for 8 yds, 1 fumble loss.

DeAngelo Williams – RB Carolina Panthers

The Falcons did a great job of limiting the run game of the Dolphins last week; this doesn’t bode well for Williams and the Panthers. DeAngelo will be facing off against the Atlanta front line essentially on his own, as RB Jonathan Stewart continues to nurse his sore Achilles in limited action. Considering the struggles of QB Jake Delhomme, the Panthers will have a hard time disguising their run game, eliminating any gaping holes for Williams. He’s been a must-start since midway through the 2008 season, but this week he could be a candidate to sit. Week 2 Scoutlook: 26 rushes for 69 yds, 0 TDs, 3 receptions for 18 yds.

Chad Ochocinco – WR Cincinnati Bengals

For those who tuned into Sunday night’s game in Green Bay, you saw the defense that Chad Ochocinco will be presented with. Picks galore. Carson Palmer will be hard-pressed to find a good throwing window at the hands of Dom Caper’s 3-4 defense. Given the lackluster performances of Ochocinco over the past year or so, don’t expect that to turn around in Green Bay, despite his plans for a Lambeau Leap. He’ll struggle to find the end zone, as a shutout wouldn’t be out of the question. Week 2 Scoutlook: 3 receptions for 52 yards, 0 TDs.

Owen Daniels – TE Houston Texans

The entire Texans offense struggled last week at the hands of the Jets upset. Daniels plays the tight end position a lot like a receiver, turning receptions into first downs after the catch, but the Titans defense won’t make things any easier on Matt Schaub and company. Andre Johnson should be able to break through for a deep catch or two, though the rest of Schaub’s targets will have to work hard to get open. That includes Owen Daniels. Week 2 Scoutlook: 3 receptions for 39 yds.

Baltimore Ravens – Defense

Easily one of the most feared defenses of this decade is facing a much tougher opponent than the Chiefs from Week 1. The Ravens will travel cross-country to San Diego, home of Philip Rivers, LT and Vincent Jackson. It’s not the run game that will beat the Ravens this week, it’s the passing game. The expectations for pick-6s and multiple turnovers will fall short at the hands and poise of Rivers. Week 2 Scoutlook: 24 pts allowed, 1 INT, 1 Sack, 0 TD.

Now, here’s the moment of truth: Week 1 Results

Back, back, back, back…GONE!

Last week, ESPN celebrated a monumental milestone in it’s unprecedented history. Thirty years ago on the day of the channel’s launch, ESPN debuted it’s pride and joy, SportsCenter. Nearly 32,000 episodes and hundreds of Bermanisms later, SportsCenter has well-established itself as the premiere go-to sports informant.

The wit and charm that seeps from every episode is enough to draw in viewers of both minimal and obsessional sports interest. But the real hook-line-and-sinker is the 30 second commercial featuring the sports world’s hottest stars.

The following clips look back at some of the brightest SportsCenter moments you just can’t get enough of.

Jorge “Carne” Posada will be featured in a couple of the following SportsCenter clips. Here you’ll here the chants normally heard in the stands of Yankee Stadium:

Dan Patrick and Karl Ravech star in this commercial from 1997. A blast from the past.

With the first half Jimmy Rollins had in ’09, it seems as though Scott Van Pelt may have been able to reteach J-Roll a thing or two.

Easily one of this decade’s classic clips. LT can find the perfect hole between 300-pounders but not the right mailbox through his visor.

In a tribute to SportsCenter, we can always find time to tribute the Crocodile Hunter.

David Ortiz really let Red Sox Nation down this time, more so than testing positive in ’03.

There are so many great SportsCenter commercials not featured here. Let us know which ones you want to see. We’ll do our best to track them down.
Duh-nuh-nuh. Duh-nuh-nuh!

It seems every year a player of previous mediocrity bursts onto the scene with a remarkable year. The kind of year that will warrant an 8-digit contract extension and a 5th round pick in your fantasy draft next year. Last year it was Ryan Ludwick or Matt Kemp or Evan Longoria. This year we had a handful yet again.

But on the contrary, every year there are elite players in the game who falter seemingly yearlong. Mired in slumps that us writers love to highlight, point out and slap “Bust” labels on as the 0-fors tally up. We saw awful seasons from Justin Verlander, Robinson Cano and Jeff Francoeur in 2008.

As the year winds down, we’ll take a look at those who broke out and those who showed what may be their true colors in 2009.

Rising Up

Jason Bartlett – Tampa Bay Rays

Delmon Young was supposed to be the future for the Rays, but when they decided to trade the struggling outfielder, they got Matt Garza from the Twins. The throw-in of that trade was Jason Bartlett, who is making Tampa’s front office personnel look like a chapter of Mensa members. In 2008, Bartlett had a modest year in his first as a Ray. In 454 ABs, he hit for a modest .286 and just one home run. That set him up perfectly for his breakout this year: .327 avg, 14 HRs and 63 RBI in 120 games, thus far. His 24 stolen bases during that span have added on to his appeal and propelled him to his first All-Star season.

Kendry Morales – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

The best player you don’t know about. Anaheim backed off in the Teixiera sweepstakes pretty early during the offseason, a move many thought would leave them barren at first base. Despite a slow start filling those shoes, Morales has come through in a big way in the 2009 season. And let’s be real, Teixiera wouldn’t have put up good numbers for the Angels in April and May, anyway. Here are the numbers Morales has put up to help all but lock up the AL West for the Angels: .307 avg, 30 HR, 98 RBI in 504 ABs coming into September 14th’s game. The breakout star has improved his career highs in every notable statistic.

Justin Upton – Arizona Diamondbacks

He’s been on scouts’ radar for years, ever since his high school days in Chesapeake, VA. On the major league field, though, his skills always looked raw. His five tools hadn’t developed and he struck out every third at-bat in 2008. It all clicked in May this year for Upton though, as he stepped out of his brother B.J.’s shadow and made a name for himself. Despite battling a few injuries midway through the season, Upton put up remarkable numbers through 121 games: .303 avg, 24 HR, 75 RBI and 19 SB. He’s no longer B.J.’s brother; and at this rate, B.J. will just be Justin’s brother.

Zack Greinke – Kansas City Royals

The Royals deserve a lot of credit for the developing Greinke into a Cy Young candidate. He was on his way to a Matt Bush or Todd Van Poppel-like career, but has prevailed this year after beating bouts of depression, which started in 2006. Thank God he didn’t follow through with his threats to quit the game. His 2009 campaign has yielded a 13-8 record, 216 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA, with a few starts left on his docket. His potential came through in a big way in 2009, and considering there is not runaway Cy Young candidate, don’t be surprised if the Royal’s ace takes the cake.

Falling Off

Russell Martin – Los Angeles Dodgers

Widely considered a Top 5 MLB catcher, Martin hit the skids this season. His .258 avg ranks 9th amongst catchers. As a matter of fact, the only stat in which Martin leads at the position is steals (10). Martin is a career .279 hitter with decent power, but his run production this year (48 RBI) has dropped off significantly. Despite his struggles, don’t be surprised if Martin winds up being a large contributor for the Dodgers in the postseason run this year.

David Ortiz – Boston Red Sox

His age is really catching up with him, or maybe it’s those “supplements” he dropped from his daily routine. Regardless of the excuse, Big Papi has been abysmal in 2009. Unable to catch up to the fastball and never a very good offspeed hitter, Ortiz hasn’t brought any consistency to the Red Sox lineup. His .231 batting average looks about as good as a bald Britney Spears and completely negates his 81 RBI. It’s looking like Big Papi is quickly becoming Big Abuelo.

B.J. Upton – Tampa Bay Rays

He’s a talent that many people predicted would actually breakout in a big way in 2009. His postseason numbers en route to the Rays’ AL Championship gave America a glimpse of what he’s made of: 7 HR, 16 RBI, 6 SB n 16 games. With that said, his 2009 has paled in comparison: .235 avg, 9 HR, 42 RBI. His 37 stolen bases shine light on what he could do if he reached base with more regularity. More than any other player on this list, Upton has the chance to turn these numbers around in 2010.

Ervin Santana – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Santana began the 2009 year on the disabled list with elbow issues. Since his May 14th return to the mound, Santana has accumulated a 7-8 record with a 5.52 ERA and only 89 strikeouts. Given his 16-7 campaign in 2008, the expectations were high for the Angels’ number 2 starter. No one should be too surprised by his downfall, he’d never had a sub-4 ERA before his outlier year of 2008.

Last night the NFL season officially kicked off with the Tennessee Titans taking on the world champion Pittsburgh Steelers. That means it’s time for ProScoutlook’s predictions for this 2009 season. From division winners to postseason awards, we’ll cover it all leading up to our picks for Super Bowl XLIV.

Division Winner Predictions

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles – The Eagles don’t have an easy path to the playoffs, but no NFC East team does. The toughest division in football will be a slugfest from top to bottom and could produce both Wild Card teams, but the Eagles bring the most well-rounded team to the table. Donovan McNabb to DeSean Jackson will make highlight reels through Week 17 and into the playoffs. Not to mention the upgraded offensive line for Brian Westbrook and rookie LeSean McCoy. But it’s their defense that will push them through the NFC East.

NFC North

Green Bay Packers – The Brett Favre era came to an end last year, and this year the Aaron Rodgers era begins, as he propels the Packers to a division title. Green Bay packs an explosive offense ready to show off, think New Orleans Saints with a respectable defense. Dom Capers brings his 3-4 defense to the Frozen Tundra, with high hopes for rookie pass rusher B.J. Raji. Favre and his Vikings will have no choice but to hope for the Wild Card.

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons – Second year QB Matt Ryan got a gift from GM Thomas Dimitroff this offseason in the form of TE Tony Gonzalez. The long-time Kansas City Chief is hungry for a championship and will be sniffing the postseason this year with the Falcons. Throw him into the mix with RB Michael Turner and WR Roddy White and the Falcons turn into a top 5 offense in the NFC. The only question mark is the defense, but there are some serious voids in the other NFC South teams, too.

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals - It’s tough to bet against last year’s NFC champs, especially in such a weak division. The 49ers would have been in consideration here if they’d signed Michael Crabtree a month ago, but he remains unsigned. The Seahawks have no run game and a spotty defense. Then there are the Rams. So, we’re left with the Cardinals who, though they are good, rode a hot streak to the Super Bowl last year. The Cards will be leaning on their gunslinging offense again this year led by veteran QB Kurt Warner. It really doesn’t matter, however, who is throwing to the dynamic duo of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. They’ll get the ball in their hands regardless.

NFC Wild Cards – New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings

AFC East

New England Patriots – The AFC East wound up being the most unpredictable division in football, as the Miami Dolphins turned their 2-14 team of 2007 into a playoff in 2008. But Tom Brady wasn’t playing in that division last year. He’s back now and Randy Moss has been waiting for his favorite quarterback to return. The Patriots defense, however, has 6 new pieces in the starting lineup. You better believe coach Belichick will find the most talent out of all new defensive additions.

AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers – The defending champs have only one legit competitor in their division, that being the Ravens. Though I feel the Ravens are a team on the rise, they are no match for the balanced Steelers team. With arguably the NFL’s best defense last year and an offense run by natural leader Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh is in line for a repeat within the division.

AFC South

Tennessee Titans – Defense wins. And it better if the Titans are to have any chances at making the playoffs in ’09. This year, the AFC South will emerge as one of the toughest division in football. The Colts have been a mainstay atop the division standings, but watch out for the Texans also this year. All three of these teams should end the season with winning records. Look for Kerry Collins to manage the game just enough to give his defense a chance to win 12 games this season.

AFC West

San Diego Chargers - Coming out of the easiest division in fooball, the Chargers should rack up a ton of wins at the hands of Oakland, Kansas City and Denver. Confident enough to give them the division title now, Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson should just focus on home-field advantage in the postseason.

AFC Wild Cards – Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans

NFL Postseason Award Predictions

Most Valuable Player

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) – He’s got the weapons, he’s got the skills, and he’s got his chance to create his legacy in Green Bay’s second Favre-less year. He put up remarkable numbers in his first season as the Packers’ starting QB: 4,039 yds and 28 TDs. He possesses a deadly accurate arm with great vision of the field. This year he’ll step up at the end of games, leading the Packers back to the playoffs. MVP, MVP, MVP!

Runner Up – Tom Brady (New England Patriots)

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Knowshon Moreno (Denver Broncos) – This is an easy pick. Moreno has the chance to run away with the starting RB job in Denver, a job Correll Buckholter and Peyton Hillis will forfeit without much competition. Moreno has the most talent of any RB in this rookie class. He’s brilliant between the tackles and finds microscopic holes for those extra couple of yards.

Runner Up – Percy Harvin (Minnesota Vikings)

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Brian Orakpo (Washington Redskins) – A great work ethic on the practice field has catapulted the 13th overall draft pick into the Redskins’ defensive schemes. He’ll get to the passer and create turnovers. Double-digit sacks this year are not out of the question.

Runner Up – B.J. Raji (Green Bay Packers)

Super Bowl Predictions

NFC Champion – Green Bay Packers AFC Champion – New England Patriots

In a battle of high-powered offenses, the experience of Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots prevails. Green Bay will take the game right down to the wire in a very competitive main event. Super Bowl MVP goes to Tom Brady.

Patriots win the Super Bowl by a score of NE: 27 GB: 23.

4/26/09

Dear Diary,

It’s a crush, officially a crush. I turned on ESPN today to catch some of the Red Sox/Yanks game, and there he was: #46 Jacoby Ellsbury. I sat up to watch the replays over and over as he stole home off lefty Andy Pettitte. I can’t wait to see him again…

5/5/09

Dear Diary,

After two weeks of solid negotiation, I finally did it. I got Jacoby on my keeper fantasy team. I gave up Aaron Harang, future ace Rick Porcello and Mets top prospect Fernando Martinez. He’s mine, all mine. I’ll follow his every move, count every stolen base, every hit, every swing. Where should I put my #46 tattoo? I’m thinking right over my heart…

5/28/09

Dear Diary,

I’m so proud of my Ellsy-poo. A 22-game hit streak. My hero! The streak came to an end tonight, but he’s done such good things for the Red Sox. And such good things for me…

This crush has lasted all summer and with Boston’s 2-game lead in the Wild Card, I’m hoping for a few extra weeks with Ells in October. Very few things make me burst into Boys II Men song: Jim from The Office, Giada De Laurentiis, Joe Gibbs, and now, Jacoby Ellsbury.

Centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury blasted off in Sox Nation as a September call-up in 2007, hitting .353 in the regular season. Ellsbury helped lead the Red Sox through the postseason en route to a World Series title, but only after Manager Terry Francona yanked Coco Crisp from centerfield midway through the ALCS. In 25 postseason at-bats, Ellsbury hit .360 with 4 stolen bases and 4 RBI, as he catalyzed Boston to 6 straight victories and a world championship. An instant phenom in the city of Boston.

In 2008, Ellsbury continued to show his promise and, most notably, his speed. The rookie spent the majority of the season atop the Red Sox lineup accumulating a .336 OBP and 50 steals. He finised the season with a .280 average, 98 runs scored and 38 extra-base hits. That was good enough for 3rd in the AL Rookie of the Year voting, behind Tampa’s Evan Longoria and Chicago’s Alexei Ramirez.

His progression has hit new heights this year, as Ellsbury has truly come into his own in ’09. In 132 games thus far, Jacoby Ellsbury is batting a crisp .300, a level he’s hovered around all season long. As the Red Sox leadoff hitter, he focused his attention on raising his on-base percentage, now up to .350 on the season. That’s opened the door for a record setting year.

Boston has never been known for their threats on the base paths. Coming into the season, the Tommy Harper’s 54 steals in 1973 were still the most in franchise history for a single season. That all changed on August 25th when Ellsbury stole third base for his 55th theft of 2009 in a game against the Chicago White Sox. After the game, Ellsbury recognized the historical significance:

“It’s pretty exciting. You think about all the great Red Sox players that have played before me. To be on top of the leaders in one of the categories is unbelievable. It really hasn’t hit me yet, but I’m sure after the season, you look back and it’ll be something that I’m proud of.”

As promising as that feat was for the the second year speedster, the most memorable Ellsbury moment of 2009 came on a much smaller level. During an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game in late April, Ellsbury found himself on third base as the Red Sox squared off against Andy Pettitte and the Yankees. The eruption of cheers from 38,154 Red Sox fans at Fenway Park that night told the story of what took place next.

With Pettitte pitching out of the wind-up, Ellsbury got a great jump down the third base line. Like The Sandlot‘s Benny the Jet and his PF Flyers, Ellsbury took off. In his bolt for home, he was about 15 feet from the plate by the time the ball left Pettitte’s hand. Ellsbury dove for the plate in a not-s0-graceful headfirst slide, just beating the tag of Yankee catcher Jorge Posada.

What ensued was beautiful: a standing ovation for Ellsbury, a grimace of disgust for Pettitte.

In what turned out to be a sidenote, the Red Sox went on to win the game 4-1 as part of their 8 straight wins against New York to start the season. Ellsbury’s gutsy move headlined the show that night on national television.

He captured the hearts of many Red Sox fans with his steal of home, mine included. A future perennial All-Star, Ellsbury is projected to hit well for average throughout his career, with the ability to establish a power stroke as he matures. His skills are still raw at such a young age. He turns 26 years old tomorrow, September 11. The Ellsbury hype will grow and my crush will too.

Let’s put it this way: my first born son will be named Jacoby.

Some may be no-brainers, some may have the men in white coats knocking on my door, but all will come full circle. In next week’s edition, we’ll review the accuracy (or complete failure) of my picks.

Yes, Please. I’d Love Some…

Joe Flacco – QB Baltimore Ravens

Flacco and the Ravens will be hosting the Chiefs and their JV defense. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the addition of LSU’s Tyson Jackson won’t be enough to drastically improve the 27th ranked defense of 2008. Flacco put up a 65.6% completion rate to go along with 470 yards passing in 3 games this preseason. The Ravens have shown confidence in Flacco as their future gunslinger, not just a game manager. Look for his breakout to begin Week 1 with the help of receiving options Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton and Ray Rice out of the backfield. Week 1 Scoutlook: 285 yds passing, 2 TDs, 3 rushes for 22 yds.

Frank Gore – RB San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers head coach Mike Singletary has vocalized his desire for a run-based offense coming into 2009, and Gore is his featured back. Despite RB Glen Coffee’s success in the preseason, he doesn’t seem to be much of a threat, maybe getting just 8-12 carries from Gore in the opener. A nice breather for the bowling ball rusher. The 49ers will be in Arizona, but last years NFC champs will face the tough task of slowing down Gore. Week 1 Scoutlook: 24 rushes for 105 yds, 1 TD, 3 receptions for 23 yds.

TJ Houshmandzadeh – WR Seattle Seahawks

New team, same dynamic player. Seattle fans will get very familiar with Housh when the Rams come to town this weekend. New offensive cooridinator Greg Knapp and his west coast offense will have QB Matt Hasselbeck looking to dupe the revamped St. Louis defense. Hasselbeck will hook-up with the 6’2″ target across the middle, and hopefully, in the red zone. Week 1 Scoutlook: 8 receptions for 75 yds, 1 TD.

Jeremy Shockey – TE New Orleans Saints

The Detroit Lions can make a Pro Bowler out of any opponent, and when they head into New Orleans, you’ll witness the reincarnation of Shockey 2005. The Saints recently lost TE Billy Miller (Achilles) for the season. This leaves Shockey as Drew Brees’s top checkdown option. Sure, Colston and Moore will get there looks; and don’t miss the up-and-coming speedster Robert Meachem. But I expect Shockey to step up in a big way this week, and certainly worth starting come Sunday. Week 1 Scoutlook: 5 receptions for 68 yds and 1 TD.

Green Bay – Defense

I’ll take a Dom Capers 3-4 defense any day. And against the not-yet-gelled Bears offense, they’re all the hype in my book. Pro Bowl CB Nick Collins (7 interception in ’08), 4th year LB A.J. Hawk and rookie pass rusher B.J. Raji, will offer a 3-dimensional defensive scheme for Capers and company. Expect the Bears to struggle to throw the ball downfield, with RB Matt Forte being the only offensive star by the final whistle blow. Week 1 Scoutlook: 13 pts allowed, 2 interceptions, 2 sacks.

No, Thanks. I’ll Pass…

Donovan McNabb – QB Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick won’t be an factor in McNabb’s fantasy value this week, but the Panthers’ D will pose a bit of a problem for McNabb and his Eagles. Julius Peppers is all aboard this year with his contract woes behind him. Look for him to penetrate the rather weak offensive line of the Eagles, headed straight for the QB. Despite the breakout of WR Desean Jackson last year, McNabb still doesn’t have the targets he’d like. Trade rumors ran rampant in Philly throughout the offseason, with WR Braylon Edwards and Brandon Marshall both seemingly available for trade. Starting the season with just Desean Jackson, Kevin Curtis and a gimpy Brian Westbrook, look for McNabb to struggle Week 1 against a respectable Carolina defense. Week 1 Scoutlook: 192 yds passing, 1 TD, 2 interceptions, 4 rushes for 12 yds.

Willie Parker – RB Pittsburgh Steelers

Never a shoe-in fantasy start, Willie Parker faces a tough matchup in Tennessee this week. The Titans gave up just 93.9 ypg on the ground last year, and despite losing DT Albert Haynesworth to the Redskins, they project to be a top defense yet again. Parker faces an internal barrier this year too, that being second year RB Rashard Mendenhall. Expect Mendenhall to be getting half of the carries by Week 9 at Denver, coming out of the Steelers’ bye week. Parker will be running uphill all year. The struggles begin Thursday. Week 1 Scoutlook: 21rushes for 64 yds, 2 receptions for 7 yds, 0 TDs.

Terrell Owens – WR Buffalo Bills

Heading into Week 1, T.O. has a clear disadvantage. The chemistry with Bills QB Trent Edwards, is not where it should be after Owens (toe) missed three preseason games and a good chunk of practices. Throw in the Bills’ raw offensive line composed of all new parts, and the New England defense will limit any looks Owens may have seen. Get your popcorn ready to watch Tom Brady and company put on the only show of this matchup. Week 1 Scoutlook: 3 catches, 47 yds.

Miami Dolphins – Defense

Don’t get the wrong idea, the Dolphins have a well-rounded defense, probably underrated. Bringing back DE/LB Jason Taylor won’t have quite the impact they’re looking for. Also, LB Jerry Porter will need to repeat his 2008 Pro Bowl year, in which he started all 16 games. The Dolphins’ weakness lies in the youthful secondary, an area Atlanta’s Matt Ryan will look to exploit in his house. Be on the lookout for big days from WR Roddy White and new acquisition TE Tony Gonzalez, backed by the top tier rushing attack of Turner the Burner. Week 1 Scoutlook: 27 pts allowed, 1 sack.
