Adam Hutcheson
Adam started writing for ProScoutlook with no journalistic training, but that won’t slow him down. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, his sports loyalties are forever tested. Does he like the Redskins? Yes, but it sure is hard to believe in Dan Snyder. The Nats? Tough to love, too pathetic to hate. So with that said, “Go Sox!”
While he pursues his Associate’s degree and then his Bachelor’s from Temple University, he’ll look to make a name for himself in the world of sports. A life-long sports fan, Adam’s dream job would be to write for ProScoutlook the day it surpasses ESPN as the worldwide leader.
ProScoutlook Roundtable
The Roundtable article was put together by each of the writers of ProScoutlook.com to give readers a chance to get to know their “sports fan” history.
Top 5 Entrance Songs:
1. Down in the Flood – Derek Trucks Band
Try to strike me out after Trucks wails on the guitar and you hear, “Now don’t try to move me, YOU’RE JUST GONNA LOSE!”
2. Hell’s Bells – AC/DC
Trevor Hoffman has made this a classic entrance theme, but for good reason. It’s powerful.
3. Black Dog – Led Zeppelin
Great riff, great energy. Classic Zeppelin.
4. Money – Pink Floyd
Remind those fans why we make the big bucks.
5. Centerfield – John Fogerty
The best song ever written about baseball. “Put me in coach, I’m ready to play.”
Top 5 Favorite Athletes
1. Jim Abbott – California Angels
Not the best pitcher in the world, Abbott made a successful major league career for himself…..with one hand. A no-hitter and the Olympics top off a remarkable, unparalleled career.
2. Sean Taylor – Washington Redskins
The guy put hits on people. Even punters…at the Pro Bowl.
3. Barry Sanders – Detroit Lions
Sanders had the chance to break all kinds of rushing records had he not left the NFL early. So graceful.
4. Randy Johnson – Seattle Mariners/Arizona Diamondbacks
The Big Unit could very well be the last 300 game winner baseball will ever see. He also once killed a bird mid-pitch. Google it.
5. Dennis Rodman – Chicago Bulls
An absolute riot to watch with his daily hair changes. And he looked good in a dress.
Top 5 Sports Moments That Stand Out as the Most Memorable:
1. Sept. 24, 2004 ALCS Game 7
Red Sox come back from being down 0-3 to the Yankees to win the ALCS and advance to the World Series. Here’s my favorite quote: “The Yankees have a stranglehold on the series” – Yankees commentator John Sterling before Game 4.
2. 2008 Olympics 100m Men’s Butterfly
The heroics of Michael Phelps to beat Milorad Cavic by .01 second earned him his record-tying 7th gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. Nuts.
3. 2007 Fiesta Bowl
I have no affiliation to either team, but the Boise State comeback against Oklahoma topped off by a game-winning Statue of Liberty two-point conversion was worth staying up for that night.
4. The Home Run Race Summer of 1998
The fact that Sosa and McGwire were juicing taints the epic battle that ensued during the summer of 1998, but it sure was a blast to follow, nonetheless.
5. Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back
Four consecutive Red Sox HRs off Yankee pitcher Chase Wright on April 22, 2007, now that was a thrill to watch.
